Meet the Designers of this learning space
Briar Jamieson (@mbjamieson; www.brijam.com)
Briar is an educational technology specialist focused on adult language learning with a B.A., B.Ed. and TESL Certificate from the University of Toronto. Over the past 7 years, she has built www.myenglishonline.ca into Manitoba`s foremost Web 2.0 interface that delivers ESL programs to over 1000 learners annually using online modules, virtual classes, e-tutoring and electronic learner portfolios (www.youliveandlearn.ca). Her experience in designing an online Learning Management System, writing curriculum, hosting online conferences and webinars (www.realizeforum.ca) has been built on her prior work experience in corporate Human Resources in Toronto. Jan Lewis @mrslewistweets received a BA Honours in Communication Studies & Dramatic Arts from the University of Windsor and then went on to earn her BEd (Junior Intermediate qualifications). Upon discovering a passion for integrating technology in the classroom, she was delighted to discover the University of British Columbia's Master of Educational Technology program. ETEC 510 is Jan's third MET course. The 2015-2016 school year will be her 14th year of teaching. She taught Intermediate (Gr.7-8) and Junior (Gr.4-6) homerooms and rotary subjects before accepting the role of Library and Digital Technology teacher for her school (K-8) and Primary (Gr.1-3) Science & Media Literacy teacher.
Lexi Nichols (aka Alexandra Iggulden) - @lexiiggy received her BSc. with a concentration in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia. She then went on to earn the equivalency of a BEd with a Minor in Learning Disabilities from Simon Fraser University. Her love for lifelong learning has brought her to the University of British Columbia where she is currently working through her third Masters in Education Technology Course ETEC 510. She has has taught everything from grade 1 to 8 but specializes in the middle school age range. She is is currently teaching at HD Stafford (@HDSMSskyhawks) in Langley, British Columbia. She loves interacting with educators and students using a variety of online platforms and welcomes on-going collaboration so shoot her a message!
